Safety Tip of the Month

When disconnecting hydraulic hoses during maintenance procedures, always cap or plug open lines during maintenance procedures and clearly identify their original location and connection point. This will also prevent air from displacing hydraulic fluid. If pressurizing capped our plugged hoses, always restrained your hoses prior to re-starting machinery to prevent whipping. Removing the hose completely will also prevent whipping.
